ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Amanda Bowman teaches inorganic chemistry at Colorado College. She received her PhD in chemistry from Cornell University. Her research focuses on the chemical element cobalt, known for its distinct blue color.
Kelly Bubach is a former IT professional who left his job to turn his love of java into a warehouse coffee bar in one of the oldest blue-collar neighborhoods in Colorado Springs. He first began roasting coffee beans at home for himself, friends, and family, and then exapanded his passion into a business when he realized his ultra-high-end roasts could best be served and enjoyed by clients in a cafe setting complete with gourmet waffles and other delicious items. Kelly opened Urban Steam in 2013, and serves serious espresso, waffles, whiskey, and good times.
