Join the SOLE office and fellow UCCS students, faculty and staff to volunteer on the Waldo Canyon Trail! This trail, a popular 8 mile loop just west of Colorado Springs, has been closed since the fire in 2012. As the location where the fire originated, the landscape needs assistance in it's recovery from the affects of the burn. We will be volunteering with local environmental stewardship non-profit the Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI; more info www.rmfi.org)
We will be working on the trail and helping to restore vegetation on the surrouding landscape. We will also be doing flood mitigation to help protect neighborhoods and businesses downstream.
