Viall's claims were socially relevant in this day and age of such divisiveness. He engaged his audience with 2 "homework" tasks, which I found to be appealing towards greater expansion and conversation of this topic. His analogous relationship between casino behavior ("reshuffling and replacing the "deck"") and historical schemas was intriguing, and he appropriately revisited this concept throughout his presentation. Perhaps if the lecture was longer Viall could have gone more "in-depth" into his Kantian description of geographical racial taxonomy, although this is simply a matter of my opinion and a miniscule detraction from what I found to be a stimulating lecture. Well done, this lecture was an oasis of free-thought in a world so quick to materialize bias. Excellent conversation starter in the community and appealing to demographic variation.
